    The Mayor's Christmas Carol Concert will bring the real spirit of Christmas to the Guildhall this Friday evening, the 5th December. Abingdon Town Band and the Community Choir will lead the singing with mulled wine and mince pies on sale to make the evening a warm and festive occasion.

    Doors open at 6.30pm to this free event and the concert starts at 7pm. Money raised will go to the Mayor's charities.

    The Annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service will take place today with the church service commencing at 10.00am in St Helen's Church, moving to the War Memorial for 10.40am followed by the Parade to the Guildhall after 11.00am. The Mayor and Council of Abingdon-on-Thames extend a warm welcome to all who wish to attend any part of this act of remembrance.

    The Science of Art lecture, by painting conservator Ruth Bubb, will now take place on Tuesday 17th March at 7pm. There will be an opportunity for an out-of-hours view of the Monk's Map from 6.30pm in the Attic Galleries of the Museum, followed by Ruth's lecture. This date has been changed from Wednesday 18th March.

    Families with children of all ages are invited to attend this wonderful free drop-in activity at the Museum today and tomorrow (29 + 30 October). Make your own simple style books and notebooks, with special papers, easy binding techniques and learning differernt styles of writing! Everyone can also have a go at creating a stylish illuminated letter using their initial or other favourite letter.
